Bucharest & Transylvania Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Bucharest

Airport pick-up and transfer to your accommodation in Bucharest city center. You will meet your guide for an orientation session and itinerary presentation. Welcome dinner in Bucharest Old Town.

Day 2 Discover Bucharest

Together with your guide you will go on a walking tour of Bucharest historical center. Visit the Romanian Athenaeum, see the balcony where dictator Ceausescu held his last speech and learn the legends of the Old Town. A visit to the Kitsch Museum is included. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 3 Bucharest to Sibiu

Today the Transylvanian adventure of the Bucharest & Transylvania Tour begins! You will go across the Carpathian Mountains to arrive in the picturesque town of Sibiu.

After check-in and lunch, you will have a walking tour of the historical center. Visit the grand Lutheran Church, cross the Bridge of Lies and learn the secret of the Sibiu rooftops. Accommodation in Sibiu historical center.

During the 1st of July and 31st of October the road back to Bucharest is via the Transfagarasan Highway, one of the most spectacular in the world. Please be aware that this route is weather dependable.

Day 4 UNESCO Sites of Transylvania

After leaving Sibiu in the morning, first stop is the fortified church of Biertan, an impressive castle - church listed as a UNESCO heritage site.

Around noon time you will be arriving in Sighisoara, one of the best preserved medieval citadels of Europe. Also a UNESCO site, Sighisoara is the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler and home to a spectacular Clock Tower.

Arrival in Brasov in the evening and check in to your accommodation in the heart of the historical center.

Day 5 Famous Castles of Romania

In the morning you will visit the spooky castle of the infamous Count Dracula. Discover why Bram Stoker chose it as the home of his vampire and learn the controversial opinion about Dracula.

After Dracula Castle, it is time to visit one of the most beautiful, fairy tale like castles in Europe: Peles Castle.

Arrival in Bucharest in the evening with check-in at your accommodation.

Day 6 Communist Past

One of the most fascinating period of Romania is its recent history of 45 years of communism. Part of that history is the Palace of the Parliament, a monster building and grand vision of dictator Ceausescu.

In the afternoon you will visit the Spring Palace, the private home of the Ceausescu family. Because it was occupied by the army during the revolution, the interior is intact. You will have an intimate glimpse in the life of the Romanian dictator.

Good Bye dinner in the Old Town.

Day 7 Free Time and Airport Transfer

  • 15% deposit needs to be paid for groups of 1-3 people.

  • 10% deposit needs to be paid for groups of 4-6 people.

Deposit will be paid via paypal. Deposit is non refundable in case of cancellation from guests. The remaining of the amount to be paid up to 24hrs before tour starts.
