The Wine Tasting & Mud Volcanoes Tour is a private day trip from Bucharest which takes you to the foothills of the Carpathians. This area is famous for two things: exquisite red wine and the mud volcanoes. Spend a fun day exploring the alien scenery of the volcanoes followed by an extensive wine tasting at one of the wineries at Dealu Mare.

Wine Tasting & Mud Volcanoes Tour beings with early pick-up from your hotel and then we head off towards Buzau country. About 2 hrs drive from Bucharest, we find the village of Paclele Mari, home to the mud volcanoes. These mud volcanoes are a unique phenomenon in the country and a peculiar site to visit. We’re going to learn how they were formed, why the land around them looks like a desert and find the bubbliest volcano there.
In the afternoon we go to our second destination of the day: LacertA Winery. Set in the picturesque area in the foothills of the Carpathians, LacertA is famous for both its beautiful surroundings and red wines. Our visit includes a tour of the vineyards and wine cellars plus a session of wine tasting of 6 different wines accompanied by LacertA’s own sommelier.
